Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026 (draft)

This Privacy Policy explains how BOATLUX USA (“BOATLUX”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit this website, contact us, or ask about owning a share of a boat or about a BOATLUX franchise.

Who we are

BOATLUX is a global network for shared boat ownership that operates through local franchise partners. When you ask about a boat or a market, your request may be handled by BOATLUX and by the franchise partner for that area.

Information we collect

  • Information you give us: your name, email, phone number, the location or market, boat type and budget or investment range you are interested in, and anything you write in a message.
  • Information collected automatically: device and browser data, the pages you view, an approximate location based on your IP address, and how you reached us (for example, campaign parameters in a link). Analytics and advertising technologies are used only if you allow them.
  • Information from our network: if a franchise partner follows up with you, it may record notes about your conversation.

How we use it

  • To answer your request and route it to the right BOATLUX team or franchise partner, based on location, boat preference, budget and availability.
  • To contact you about your request by phone, text or email, where you have agreed to it.
  • To understand how the website is used and improve it, and, only if you allow it, to measure our advertising.
  • To keep the website secure, prevent misuse and meet our legal obligations.

How we share it

  • With the BOATLUX commercial team and the franchise partner for your area, so they can follow up on your request.
  • With service providers that help us run the website and our communications (for example hosting, analytics, email and customer-relationship tools). They may use the information only to provide those services to us.
  • With advertising platforms, only if you allow advertising cookies.
  • When the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the business.

We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. Some advertising uses can count as “sharing” under California law, which is why you can turn them off at any time (see “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” below).

Cookies and similar technologies

We use three kinds: strictly necessary ones that keep the site working (for example, remembering your privacy choice), analytics ones that tell us which pages and features are useful, and advertising ones that let us measure our ads. Analytics and advertising stay off until you choose, and you can change your mind at any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer.

We also keep, in your browser, the campaign details of the link you arrived through (for example UTM parameters) and the page you first visited, for up to 90 days, so we can tell which channel your request came from.

Your choices

  • Cookies: use “Cookie settings” in the footer to allow or reject analytics and advertising.
  • Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends this signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of advertising sharing.
  • Calls and texts: you can stop them at any time by telling the person who contacts you, or by replying STOP to a text message.
  • Your information: you can ask to see, correct or delete it (see “California privacy rights”).

California privacy rights

If you live in California you can ask us to tell you which personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information through this website.

To make a request, use our Contact page and choose “Something else”, mentioning that it is a privacy request. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it, and you can use an authorized agent.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

You can opt out of the sharing of your personal information for advertising at any time by turning off “Advertising” in the cookie settings. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we honor it automatically.

Calls and text messages

If you give us your phone number and agree, BOATLUX and the franchise partner for your area may call or text you about your request, including with automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to opt out of texts at any time.

Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, and then delete or de-identify it unless the law requires us to keep it longer. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it, but no system is completely secure.

Children and international use

This website is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. BOATLUX operates in several countries, so your information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where we or our partners operate.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy and will post the new version here with its date. For questions about it, use our Contact page.
